Service User Engagement - doing well, and getting better

Hillingdon Mind takes very seriously its commitment to service user engagement.


Four people with lived experience sit on our Board as Trustee/Directors. There are regular consultation exercises with people who use our services


In 2014 a major survey of people's views, through individual conversations, group discussions, and Survey Monkey culminated in the"Our Voice, Our Mind"conference.


In June 2015 a group of 20 people met with the Director and some of the staff to begin the design of a peer-support programme.


But we know we can do much better.


So, we are currently undertaking a comprehensive review of how we engage users more fully in :

  • the governance of the organisation
  • strategy, policy and practice development
  • the co-designer of services
  • the evaluation of service impact
  • being agents of change
