Experiencing mental health problem can be an isolating experience and being LGBT on top of that can make you feel lonely and that is why having people around you who not only understand what you are going through, but also share your identity.
As part of this programme there is a range of support:
The group meets on two Saturday of each month from 1pm to 4pm
(Please contact Lukasz before attending)
The idea of the support group is to create a safe space for members of the LGBT community who experience mental health problems to come together, make friends, share experiences and support one another.
We are here for you and open to any suggestions; we may choose to arrange outings, such as to the cinema and theatre, anything really that makes you feel that bit better.
A service where you can see someone professionally on a one to one basis to discuss any issues or problems you might be facing, but also to help you with ‘coming out’, relationships and other related matters. This does not replace professional counselling (which Hillingdon Mind also offers), but it complements it. It’s arranged individually, usually one week in advance.
We hope within time to offer a buddy system so do get in touch if you think you could volunteer your time to support someone individually or if you would like to get involved with the running of the social group.
If you have any other ideas or needs or you would like to register your interest in one of these services, please contact Christopher on 01895 271559 through the form below:
