Crafts of Asia
Contact: Kiran Seth, Asian Projects and Diversity Manager.
Crafts of Asia Project is funded by Capital Volunteering:
Capital Volunteering aims to address the issues of mental health and social inclusion by supporting people with mental health problems to volunteer in a range of settings as a means of building peoples’ confidence, skills, social networks and employability.
Crafts of Asia aims to Empower women through teamwork.
The group is for Asian women who have a mental health problem and are on a CPA. Some women may not have been able to engage in other activities. We support them to express in a meaningful way culturally appropriate to them. We encourage them to participate and to learn or improve their skills in Asian Arts and Crafts – Embroidery, Patchwork, Mirror-work Crochet and Knitting. Women also participate in yoga and dance classes.
The group is held every Thursday from 1-3pm for two hours.
At Brookside Community Centre,
Brookside Road, Hayes.
